Previously, I played the beta with DX11 and it was running smoothly with no lag. Second, if you are playing in fullscreen, toggle it to borderless fullscreen. I can find multiple news articles that stated it supports DX11, now that it is released, I see the min settings on the steam page is DX12.

You can give both APIs a try on your hardware, but if you have a GPU with 4GB or less VRAM, DirectX 11 will likely give you a better overall experience in Back 4 Blood.

Co-op may be online or with AI companions. The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime installs a number of runtime libraries from the legacy DirectX SDK for some games that use D3DX9, D3DX10, D3DX11, XAudio 2.7, XInput 1.3, XACT, and/or Managed DirectX 1.1. You play against zombie hordes on campaign runs, and you can repeat the runs with increased difficulties, bonuses, and debuffs. While we are fairly confident our DX11 renderer works fine (we have been using it internally for a year now), some issues might arise on specific hardware or configurations. Back 4 Blood is a co-op multiplayer first-person shooterwith rogue-lite features.

If you were using DirectX9 previously, the launcher will perform a one-time upgrade to DirectX11 the first time you open it.
